Long Cast Advisers Sees Pro-Dex Benefiting From Zimmer's mBos Robot Launch

Long Cast Advisers highlighted Pro-Dex, Inc. as a top position in its Q2 2026 investor letter, citing the potential for exceptional operating cash flow transformation if Zimmer Biomet succeeds with the commercialization of its mBos surgical robot. The firm estimates that Zimmer's purchase of Monogram included contingent valuation rights paying $3.41 per share annually from 2028 to 2030 if mBos gross revenues exceed certain hurdles, and it calculates that roughly 609 system sales would be needed to trigger the final CVR, a target it views as achievable given Stryker sold 860 Mako units in its first three years. Long Cast Advisers assumes four effectors per system sale and a capital sale price of around $1 million per machine, in line with the Mako platform. The adviser believes that once the system launches, Pro-Dex could see a substantial increase in corporate value, justifying its continued top position in the portfolio.
