Poxel S.A. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company incorporated in 2009 and headquartered in Lyon, France. It develops novel treatments for metabolic pathophysiology, type 2 diabetes, and liver diseases, as well as rare metabolic diseases and associated steatohepatitis. Its lead product is TWYMEEG (Imeglimin), an oral drug candidate targeting mitochondrial dysfunction that is approved in Japan for type 2 diabetes. The company also develops PXL770, an adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase enzyme in Phase 2a for chronic metabolic diseases including NASH, and PXL065, in Phase 2 for NASH with a focus on chronic and rare metabolic indications. Poxel has licensing agreements with Enyo Pharma S.A.S. for a farnesoid X receptor in Phase 2a for hepatitis B and NASH, with DeuteRx LLC for PXL065, and with Sumitomo Pharma for the development and commercialization of Imeglimin.
