Signify and Silicon Labs Bring Concurrent Zigbee and Matter Support to Select Philips Hue Bulbs

Signify and Silicon Labs have announced a collaboration to enable concurrent multiprotocol communications on select Philips Hue smart bulbs, allowing them to support both Zigbee and Matter over Thread simultaneously on a single device. The new bulbs leverage Silicon Labs' MG26 and SiMG301 wireless SoCs, with a software update to enable concurrent operation rolling out later this year. The move aims to give consumers the simplicity and interoperability of Matter while preserving access to the advanced features and immersive experiences of the Philips Hue ecosystem.
