SunOpta Inc. manufactures and sells plant- and fruit-based food and beverage products in the United States, Canada, and internationally. Its offerings include plant-based beverages made from oat, almond, soy, coconut, rice, hemp, and other nuts, grains, seeds, and legumes under the Dream and West Life brands, oat-based creamers under the SOWN brand, ready-to-drink protein shakes, packaged teas and concentrates, meat and vegetable broths and stocks, and plant-based ingredients such as oatbase and soybase. It also provides fruit-based snacks, conventional and organic broth and stock, liquid packaged and bulk tea concentrate, and liquid ingredients for internal use and for sale to other food and beverage manufacturers. Products are sold through foodservice operators, grocery retailers and club stores, branded food companies, food manufacturers, and e-commerce channels. The company was formerly known as Stake Technology Ltd. and changed its name to SunOpta Inc. in October 2003; it was incorporated in 1973 and is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. As of May 1, 2026, SunOpta Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Refresco B.V.
