Tyler Technologies Raises 2030 Goals After Cloud Transition

Tyler Technologies, a software company serving state and local governments, has raised its 2030 financial goals following a successful cloud transition. In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Andvari Associates highlighted that Tyler has met or exceeded its 2025 interim targets, shifted over 95% of new-client total contract value to SaaS, migrated roughly 5,000 hosted customers to AWS, and exited its last private data center on schedule. The company's remaining on-premise maintenance base offers a large conversion pool, with each maintenance-to-SaaS shift expected to lift recurring revenue by about 1.7 times before cross-sell or module expansion. Tyler's next phase, "Cloud Living," aims to reduce version complexity, lower support burden, and speed upgrades. As of August 28, 2026, Tyler's stock closed at $377.94, with a market capitalization of $15.48 billion.

Madison Mid Cap Fund Adds Tyler Technologies, Citing Long Runway for Sales Growth

Madison Investments' Mid Cap Fund added Tyler Technologies to its portfolio in the first quarter of 2026, seeing a long runway for sales growth as municipalities and states upgrade decades-old systems and citizens demand better digital interfaces. The fund noted Tyler's strong track record and risk-averse government clients favor proven vendors, positioning it to win contracts despite AI disruption fears. Tyler Technologies shares closed at $290.75 on June 29, 2026, with a market capitalization of $11.96 billion, though the stock lost 50.72% over the past 52 weeks. The Madison Mid Cap Fund declined 4.28% in the quarter, underperforming the Russell Midcap Index's 1.29% return, partly due to limited exposure to the Energy and Materials sectors that rallied on geopolitical and commodity price concerns.

NZS Capital Adds Tyler Technologies as AI-Resilient Optionality Play

NZS Capital added Tyler Technologies to its Growth Equity Strategy portfolio in the first quarter of 2026, citing the government-software provider's resilience to AI-driven disruption. The firm described Tyler's products as mission-critical systems of record whose value far exceeds their code, yet they represent only a fraction of a percent of a customer's operating budget. NZS Capital argued that municipal customers' risk aversion makes it unlikely they would replace Tyler's software with an AI-native startup, and the firm believes AI agents are more likely to interact with existing platforms than displace them. Tyler Technologies shares have fallen more than 40% over the past year, closing at $276.88 on June 18, 2026, with a market capitalization of $11.39 billion. The strategy itself returned negative 8.75% gross and negative 8.91% net in the quarter, underperforming the Morningstar Global Target Market Exposure Index's negative 3.30%.
