AeroVironment IncReceives $51M Army order for Switchblade systems, showing sustained demand.

AeroVironment has received a $51 million delivery order from the U.S. Army for additional Switchblade 600 Block 2 loitering munition systems, along with Block 1 systems for a Foreign Military Sale to a key ally. The order falls under the Army's existing five-year, $990 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract for Lethal Unmanned Systems, originally issued in August 2024. This follow-on procurement underscores sustained demand for the next-generation Switchblade product line, which has been fielded across more than 20 brigade combat teams since 2025. The Block 2 system, developed with U.S. Special Operations Command, features upgraded avionics, automatic target recognition, and resilient communications for contested environments.
