AeroVironment IncRevenue growth driven by BlueHalo acquisition and $1B Army contract
AeroVironment has widened its revenue advantage over Iren, with AeroVironment posting $641.6 million in its most recent quarter while Iren's sales have fallen for two consecutive quarters after peaking at $240.3 million. Iren, which pivoted from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure and signed a five-year, $3.4 billion cloud services contract with Nvidia, saw revenue drop to $184.7 million and then $144.8 million in its latest two reported periods. AeroVironment, a leader in unmanned aerial vehicles, boosted its top line through the acquisition of BlueHalo and a five-year $1 billion U.S. Army contract for Switchblade loitering munitions, though its quarterly revenue can be lumpy due to bulk contract payments. Iren management has targeted an annual recurring revenue run rate of more than $3 billion by the end of the current fiscal year, which would require a reversal of the recent downtrend.
