Alnylam Pharmaceuticals IncAlnylam partners with Inceptive to leverage AI for RNAi drug discovery, aiming to shorten timelines and expand pipeline.

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals and Inceptive Nucleics have announced a collaboration valued at up to $2 billion to accelerate the discovery of RNAi therapeutics. Under the agreement, Inceptive will receive $30 million in upfront consideration consisting of cash and equity, with the potential for further payments contingent upon reaching preclinical, regulatory, and commercial milestones. The partnership combines Alnylam's extensive RNAi platform and two decades of proprietary data with Inceptive's foundation models and AI expertise, aiming to unlock innovative oligonucleotide designs and improve experimental productivity. By integrating Inceptive's AI capabilities, led by Transformer architecture co-inventor Jakob Uszkoreit, Alnylam intends to shorten discovery timelines and identify top-performing therapeutic candidates more efficiently, supporting its Alnylam 2030 pipeline expansion strategy.
