Cloud business grew 37% driven by AI demand, boosting revenue and market cap past $3 trillion.

Amazon.com's market capitalisation has surpassed $3 trillion for the first time. It is the fifth company in the world to reach the $3 trillion mark, following Apple and Nvidia, among others, buoyed by strong performance in its cloud business driven by artificial intelligence demand. In its April-to-June quarter results for fiscal 2026, announced on July 30, the company reported a 20% year-on-year increase in revenue and a 37% rise in its cloud business, fuelling views that its massive AI investments are translating into earnings. On the US stock market on the 3rd, the share price briefly surged around 6% from the previous weekend's close.
