Amazon is expanding rapid delivery to 300+ Indian cities, targeting an $11B market and taking share from incumbents.

Amazon is aggressively expanding its rapid delivery service in India, aiming to reach more than 300 cities and towns. The service, called Amazon Now, launched last year and currently operates in about 15 locations. The company is leveraging its last-mile warehouse network to push into smaller cities, targeting a market estimated at $11 billion. Experts cited by Bloomberg say Amazon's deep pockets, rapid store expansion, and aggressive discounts could help it take market share from incumbents. Amazon also plans to invest $13 billion to expand its AI and cloud computing capabilities in India.
