Amazon.com IncAmazon raised ~$100B in bonds to fund ~45% of its $220B capex plan, while S&P flagged hyperscaler credit risk.

Amazon has tapped bond investors for roughly $100 billion in 2026, according to Axios, funding about 45% of its estimated $220 billion annual capital-spending plan as S&P warns of hyperscaler credit risk. The e-commerce and cloud-computing giant's shares rose about 1.5% to $255.71 Friday as Wall Street weighed that warning. Amazon's borrowing power rests on its second-quarter results, in which AWS revenue jumped 37% to $42.2 billion and operating income hit $16.6 billion, a 39.3% margin. Trailing operating cash flow reached $161.4 billion, but free cash flow swung to negative $7.6 billion as property investment surged, and the stock trades 3.19% above its $247.80 GF Value. S&P's concern extends beyond Amazon's own balance sheet, since hyperscalers are also helping bankroll smaller AI companies, tying elite credit profiles to far weaker counterparties.
