Apple Inc.New iPhone 18 and foldable iPhone launch expected Sept. 9 under new CEO.

Apple's first iPhone launch under new CEO John Ternus is set for Sept. 9, as Ternus, who became CEO on Sept. 1, replaces Tim Cook after 15 years. The event, called Surprise and Shine, is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 lineup and a rumored foldable iPhone, possibly named the iPhone Ultra, which could retail for over $2,000. Apple's June-ended quarter saw revenue up 16% year over year to nearly $109 billion and earnings up 27% to $29.4 billion, with iPhone sales jumping 22% to $54.2 billion. Growth is expected to slow in the September quarter to 9%-11% year-over-year sales growth due to foreign exchange headwinds and supply constraints, but analysts at Morgan Stanley estimate the foldable phone alone could generate $14 billion in revenue in the December quarter, with a buy rating and a $360 price target. Apple stock trades at 37 times earnings, and while a dip may occur after the September results, the new products could provide a boost later.
