Apple held its major annual product launch on the night of September 9, 2026, unveiling the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable smartphone. It marks a push into the foldable market where Samsung and Chinese smartphone makers have already been active. This time Apple did not introduce a standard iPhone 18, focusing its marketing on the premium models first. Both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max use the A20 Pro chip built on a 2-nanometer process, along with a 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera with an adjustable aperture. The iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display, uses titanium materials and the A20 Pro chip. In Thailand, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at 48,900 baht, with pre-orders opening September 12 at 7:00 p.m. and sales beginning September 18, 2026. The iPhone Duo starts at 79,900 baht for 256GB, while the top 2TB model is priced at 127,900 baht, with Thai pre-orders opening October 16 at 7:00 p.m. and sales starting October 23, 2026. In the United States, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at 1,199 dollars and the Pro Max at 1,299 dollars, roughly 100 dollars more per model than the previous generation, while the iPhone Duo is priced from as high as 1,999 dollars, amid pressure from rising memory costs. Apple also invited the CEO of Micron to attend this launch event. IDC estimates the foldable smartphone market could grow about 30% in 2026, running counter to the traditional smartphone market, which is expected to shrink 1.4%. After the launch event, Apple shares fell about 0.3%.
