Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Class A Common StockEisman calls SpaceX valuation absurd, noting high revenue multiple and speculative TAM tied to AI/Grok.
Steve Eisman, known for his bet against subprime mortgages chronicled in The Big Short, called SpaceX's valuation absurd, noting its revenues are roughly equal to Kellogg's but it trades at over 100 times revenue. He highlighted that the SpaceX S-1 filing mentions asteroid mining and that over 90% of its claimed $28.5 trillion total addressable market is tied to AI and its Grok product, which he described as a third-tier offering. Eisman also warned that hyperscalers face rising capital intensity and lack competitive moats in AI, favoring suppliers like Nvidia, Arista, and Cisco over companies such as Meta, Oracle, Microsoft, and Alphabet. He stressed he is not recommending a short position on SpaceX, saying fundamentally it is ridiculous but such things can persist for a long time.
