Riot Platforms, Inc.Riot Platforms pivots to AI infrastructure with $9.8B data center deals.
Bitcoin's main competitor for investor attention has shifted from Ethereum to the AI trade, as capital flows out of crypto and into semiconductor stocks. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs lost more than $3.1 billion through June 5, while the four largest semiconductor ETFs attracted over $21 billion, according to Reuters. Kalshi traders see a 58% chance Bitcoin falls below $55,000 by year-end and only an 11% chance it reclaims $100,000 before 2027. The Wall Street Journal reported that individual traders and hedge funds have sold Bitcoin to buy AI stocks, and even Bitcoin miners like Riot Platforms are pivoting, signing roughly $9.8 billion in data center deals to support AI infrastructure.
