BlackRock's head of digital assets, Robert Mitchnick, said in a Bloomberg interview that Bitcoin investor sentiment has turned noticeably more positive over the past month. The iShares Bitcoin Trust, the largest spot Bitcoin ETF with net assets of $48.51 billion as of August 7, saw net inflows of $693.64 million so far in August after a meagre $227.63 million in July, following months of mixed flows. Mitchnick noted that Bitcoin has decoupled from equities, outperforming significantly during the AI pullback in July, which he called a healthy development for its role as a portfolio diversifier. He stressed that Bitcoin investors remain focused on the long term, continuing to buy and hold through volatility, with each boom-and-bust cycle ending higher than the last.
