Blackstone has agreed to acquire a majority stake in South Korean actuator and motion-control technology company Futronic, valuing the company at approximately 1 trillion won, or $676 million. Blackstone's private equity funds signed a stock purchase agreement to take a controlling stake, though the investment amount was not disclosed. Futronic founder and Chairman Jin-ho Ko will remain as the second-largest shareholder and continue as chairman and CEO, partnering with Blackstone to drive global expansion. Founded in 1993, Futronic supplies high-precision actuators and motion-control solutions to global automotive original equipment manufacturers.
