Bloom Energy Corp shares rose 5.1% to $265.70 in premarket trading after confirmation that the company will join the S&P 500 Index before the market opens on September 21. Inclusion in the benchmark means investment funds and exchange-traded funds that track the S&P 500 will need to adjust their holdings to reflect the revised index composition. Bloom Energy will be the first energy company added to the S&P 500 since 2022. The index announcement was accompanied by an updated assessment from UBS analyst Manav Gupta, who increased his price target for Bloom Energy to $325 from $300 while maintaining a Buy rating. Gupta based the revised target on an 11.25-times enterprise value-to-sales multiple applied to a 2028 revenue estimate of $8.9 billion. The latest developments follow Bloom Energy's second-quarter 2026 results, when the company reported revenue of $1.07 billion, more than double the corresponding period a year earlier and exceeding Wall Street estimates.
