Broadcom Inc. announced VMware AI Factory, a software-defined foundation for VMware Private AI Cloud, at VMware Explore 2026, aiming to accelerate time to production AI and improve control over AI tokenomics. The platform automates infrastructure deployment and lifecycle management, reducing bare metal to first model time from weeks to hours. It includes private AI services such as multi-tenant model sharing, an AI Gateway, and secure AI sandboxes, and supports over 150 models including Nemotron 3, Gemma 4, and Qwen 3.7-Max. Broadcom also partnered with MetalSoft to cut bare-metal provisioning from weeks to minutes, and is collaborating with AMD to integrate Instinct GPUs and ROCm software. The offering is compatible with certified AI ReadyNodes from Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, and Supermicro.
