Broadridge Financial Solutions IncShares fell on fears that AI could erode its technology franchises and tokenized equities might disintermediate its governance business.

Broadridge Financial Solutions shares declined in the second quarter of 2026 despite reporting 7% recurring revenue growth and 11% adjusted EPS growth, as SouthernSun Asset Management attributed the drop to fears over AI disruption and tokenized equities. SouthernSun’s SMID Cap Strategy noted that the company, a leading processor of proxy voting and fixed-income trading in the U.S., raised full-year guidance for both recurring revenue and adjusted EPS, yet the stock fell on concerns that AI could erode its technology franchises and that tokenized equities might disintermediate its governance business. The investment firm argued that both fears are overstated, citing asymmetric compliance risks that make client in-sourcing of proxy processing unlikely, and noting that the SEC has affirmed tokenized securities carry the same governance obligations as traditional equities, which would continue to flow through Broadridge’s core broker-dealer and digital platform clients. With a conservatively leveraged balance sheet at roughly 1.7 times net debt to EBITDA, double-digit EPS growth guidance, and shares trading at just 15 times fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS, SouthernSun views the valuation as compelling. Broadridge closed at $144.40 per share on July 23, 2026, with a market capitalization of $16.7 billion, and its shares lost 43.08% over the past 52 weeks.
