Capsule Security has announced a solution based on NVIDIA Nemotron small language models that acts as an "AI circuit breaker" to stop rogue AI agents at runtime, before they can damage a company's digital infrastructure. The system achieved 98% accuracy on StepShield, an independent academic benchmark led by a former Stanford researcher with collaborators from Cornell, detecting violations at the exact step they occurred. Capsule fine-tuned two NVIDIA Nemotron models, with its most accurate detector scoring 96.9% in internal benchmarks, outperforming all general-purpose models tested, including those from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. The models make decisions in as little as 71 milliseconds and can run on a single NVIDIA L40S GPU after memory requirements were cut nearly in half. The technology is already protecting billions of tokens across millions of agent interactions for enterprise customers, including leading financial institutions and technology companies, and is available now.
