Chery International has surpassed 20 million cumulative vehicle sales worldwide, becoming the first China-based OEM group to reach that milestone. The 20-millionth vehicle was the new CHERY Fulwin A9, a premium long-range intelligent electric saloon, echoing the original Fulwin that was the company's first production model and among its earliest exports. Founded in 1997, Chery was also the first Chinese automotive brand to exceed one million cumulative sales in 2007 and has ranked as China's largest passenger vehicle exporter for 23 consecutive years. In the first half of 2026, the company exported 943,800 vehicles, up 71.5% year-on-year, and set four consecutive monthly export records, with one Chery-built vehicle shipped overseas every 17 seconds. The group now employs 150,000 people worldwide, including more than 20,000 staff outside its home market.
