Coinbase Global IncCoinbase adds DEX trading feature for newly issued tokens, expanding product offering and user engagement.

US crypto exchange Coinbase announced on July 27 that it has added a "Launches" tab to its in-app decentralized exchange trading feature, allowing users to discover newly issued tokens. The feature covers tokens launched on Base and Solana, with the system automatically detecting eligible on-chain assets and typically displaying them in the app within hours of issuance. Users can filter tokens by market cap, trading volume, holder count, liquidity, and other metrics, and trade them through third-party operated DEXs. This provides access to eligible tokens without waiting for a formal listing on the centralized Coinbase exchange. However, tokens available on the DEX do not undergo the standard listing review process. While Coinbase says it will implement mechanisms to exclude known scams and tokens with insufficient liquidity, as well as display risk information, it cannot detect all potential dangers. Purchased tokens are stored in a self-custody wallet controlled by the user, and the service is currently not available from Japan.
