Building materials company CRH is nearing an agreement to acquire U.S.-based infrastructure products supplier Arcosa in a transaction that could be valued at more than $8 billion, including debt, the Financial Times reported Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter. The Ireland-based company is in advanced talks with Arcosa and could reach a deal as early as next week. Arcosa, which has a market capitalization of roughly $7 billion, operates businesses serving construction, infrastructure and utility markets. The proposed acquisition would represent CRH's largest deal to date and could further expand its presence in North America's construction and infrastructure sectors. Arcosa generates about $2.9 billion in annual revenue and employs more than 6,000 people, while CRH has a market value of about $74 billion.
