Tesla IncMusk predicts material Robotaxi revenue in 2027 and unsupervised FSD expansion to a dozen states

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on the first-quarter 2026 earnings call that unsupervised full self-driving and Robotaxi revenue will likely become material in 2027, though not super material this year. Tesla had 1.28 million FSD supervised subscriptions as of March 31, generating an estimated $1.5 billion in annual revenue if all paid $99 monthly, while its Robotaxi fleet was already completing unsupervised rides in Austin, Dallas, and Houston as of April. Musk also stated the company hopes to have unsupervised FSD or Robotaxi operating in about a dozen states by the end of this year. Tesla shares trade at a price-to-earnings ratio of 349, reflecting high market expectations for its AI and autonomy ambitions, but a New York Times study found Musk has delivered on his claims only 19% of the time.
