Eni S.p.A.Eni signed MoUs for two offshore Tano Basin blocks, expanding its Ghana asset portfolio and exploration acreage

Eni S.p.A and Vitol have signed two Memoranda of Understanding with the Ghanaian government covering offshore blocks GH WB 3 and GH WB 8 in the Tano Basin. The two blocks span roughly 2,100 square kilometers in water depths of approximately 750 to 2,800 meters. The MoU is an initial contract and a starting point for eventually reaching formal petroleum agreements to begin exploration and production activities. Eni said the two blocks align with its near-field and infrastructure-led exploration strategy, which targets areas close to existing oil and gas infrastructure and established producing fields to accelerate production timelines and reduce costs. The agreements follow a Memorandum of Intent signed in the past year and mark a step forward in expanding Eni's asset portfolio in Ghana, where the company has maintained an offshore exploration and production presence since 2009 and is involved in the OCTP project alongside Vitol and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.
