Krung Thai Bank Public Company LimitedKrungthai Bank president discusses new scoring systems that may expand lending opportunities.

The Ministry of Finance is pushing for three scoring systems in the economy to channel capital more effectively. Mr. Phayong Sriwanich, President of Krungthai Bank, revealed that in addition to the credit scoring of the National Credit Bureau, or NCB, there will also be the Ari Score developed by the Ministry of Finance, and the TCG Score of the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation, which is used for SMEs. The Ari Score will be proposed to the Cabinet within August, for actual use in the next two months. Combined with data from Nok Krasib, an AI chatbot system on the Thung Ngern application that helps analyze store sales, Dr. Ekaniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, has assigned the Government Savings Bank to extend loans to more than 1.1 million small merchants participating in the Thai Chuay Thai Plus program, using data from Nok Krasib as loan evidence to reduce informal debt. Mr. Songphon Cheewapanyaroj, Director of the Government Savings Bank, said the bank is preparing to extend loans using the Ari Score as alternative behavioral scoring data alongside Nok Krasib data, expecting to bring a large number of small merchants into formal debt. Meanwhile, Mr. Sittikorn Direksoonthorn, Director and General Manager of the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation, revealed that the corporation is in discussions with the Government Savings Bank to join in guaranteeing such loans.
