Amazon Expands AI Smart Glasses to 20,000 Delivery Units by 2027
Amazon is expanding its AI-powered smart glasses for delivery drivers deeper into its last-mile logistics network, following a trial in which more than 500 delivery associates completed over 275,000 deliveries using the system over the past 18 months. The company plans to deploy another 5,000 devices this year and have more than 20,000 in use by the end of 2027, turning the small trial into a much broader operational rollout. The glasses use artificial intelligence, computer vision and cameras to guide drivers from their vehicles to delivery locations, identify hazards and confirm packages reach the correct address, displaying which packages are needed for a stop before providing walking directions. Amazon's geospatial technology is designed to help in complicated environments such as apartment buildings, and the devices can warn drivers about potential pets, flag packages left at the wrong address and capture proof of delivery. Use of the glasses remains voluntary for Amazon's delivery-service partners and their drivers.

Einride Shares Jump 12% on Nvidia Autonomous Trucking Collaboration
Einride shares jumped about 12% in premarket trading to $4.41 on Monday after the autonomous-freight company unveiled a strategic collaboration with Nvidia. Under the deal, Einride will use Nvidia's Blackwell computing architecture through a validated cloud partner to train, test and refine its autonomous-driving models, and will adapt Nvidia's DRIVE Hyperion compute, sensor, software and safety architecture for heavy-duty trucking, while using Nvidia Cosmos in its development and validation workflow. Stockholm-based Einride operates electric and autonomous freight networks for corporate customers across the U.S., Europe and the Middle East, combining Freight-Capacity-as-a-Service with software built on its Saga AI platform. Einride expects its fleet to reach roughly 1,500 to 2,000 vehicles by 2028, with about 80% of the demand represented by that network potentially suitable for automation over the medium term. The agreement lands as Einride ramps aggressively elsewhere: first-half 2026 constant-currency revenue rose 26% to $27 million, management expects second-half growth of 60% to 73%, the company has announced a 500-truck Tesla Semi deployment, and it is targeting cash-flow breakeven in 2028, with a $77 million cash position reported at June 30.
Amazon Invests Another $1.9 Billion in Delivery Service Partner Program
Amazon announced it is investing another $1.9 billion in its Delivery Service Partner program in 2027, bringing total investment in the eight-year-old program to $21.7 billion. The new funding is aimed at helping DSPs raise Delivery Associate pay to a national average of nearly $24 per hour, with Amazon saying its investments over the past three years will have helped DSP owners increase driver pay by an average of 16% nationwide. Amazon said serious vehicle crashes across its delivery network dropped more than 23% last year, following more than $543 million invested since 2022 in safety initiatives, programs and technology for DSP owners and their teams. The company is rolling out surround-view cameras that will be installed in 50% of Rivian electric delivery vehicles across the network by the end of this year, and it expects to have more than 20,000 Amazon Smart Delivery Glasses in the field by the end of 2027. Amazon is also committing $70 million over the next five years toward community impact initiatives led by DSP owners, including Amazon Local Good, which the company expects to transport and deliver over 150 million essential items, including meals, over that period.
