Apple Inc.Hedy adopts Apple Private Cloud Compute as a selectable AI option, expanding third-party use of Apple's server-side Apple Intelligence infrastructure.

Hedy AI announced that its cross-platform AI meeting assistant Hedy now supports Apple Private Cloud Compute as a user-selectable AI processing option on iPhone and iPad running iOS 27. The option lets users choose Apple's server model for session summaries, notes, chat, and live suggestions, and follows Apple's release of iOS 27 on September 14, which opened Private Cloud Compute to third-party applications for the first time since the system launched in 2024. Private Cloud Compute is the server-side extension of Apple Intelligence, running on Apple silicon hardware for requests too large to process on the device itself, and Apple states that data sent to it is used only to fulfill the request, is not retained once the request completes, and is not accessible to Apple. The addition gives Hedy four user-selectable AI processing options: Local AI, which runs analysis entirely on the user's own device including offline; Cloud AI, processed by Hedy's AI partners inside a user-selected data region; Apple Private Cloud Compute, processed on Apple's infrastructure under the user's own Apple ID; and Off, which keeps transcription running while pausing AI analysis. Apple Private Cloud Compute is available in Hedy 3.11 on iPhone and iPad running iOS 27, on devices eligible for Apple Intelligence and with Apple Intelligence enabled, and is not available on macOS, Windows, Android, or the web app, where Local AI, Cloud AI, and Off remain available. Hedy is free to use with 300 minutes per month, while Hedy Pro is $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year, and a one-time lifetime license is $299.
