HIVE Digital Technologies LtdAppointment of Mark Volk as SVP of Revenue and expansion of AI infrastructure strategy to convert computing capacity into contracted revenue

HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd has appointed Mark Volk as Senior Vice President of Revenue, part of an expansion of its artificial intelligence infrastructure strategy that Executive Chairman Frank Holmes said includes a potential GPU cloud pipeline worth more than $1 billion. Holmes told Proactive that Volk had worked with HIVE for nine months before taking the position full time and had already helped build that potential GPU cloud pipeline. He said Volk's experience would be important as HIVE scales its data centre operations and seeks to turn computing infrastructure into contracted revenue, pointing to the company's activities in Paraguay and its partnership with Bell Canada as examples of that scaling strategy. Holmes also said HIVE had broken the $1 million-a-day barrier and had maintained that level for the past couple of weeks, and he positioned artificial intelligence as the company's next growth engine alongside its established Bitcoin operations, which he described as HIVE's cash engine. Holmes said GPUs are substantially more expensive than Bitcoin-mining ASICs but can generate 30, 40 times more revenue per hour per chip, adding that every megawatt has a job with HIVE and that the company would move toward AI at locations where AI could earn a better return than Bitcoin.
