HSBC and Google Cloud have announced a multi-year strategic partnership to accelerate AI adoption across HSBC's global operations. The collaboration is expected to enable more than 200 new AI use cases over the next two years, with the bank estimating that the highest-value initiatives could each return more than US$100 million in direct revenue gains or efficiency improvements. Initial efforts will focus on hyper-personalised wealth management support, stronger financial crime risk management, and AI tools to enhance frontline and relationship manager client service. HSBC will work with Google Cloud and Google DeepMind engineering teams, gaining access to Google's latest agentic AI capabilities, including Gemini models and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The programme builds on an existing footprint of more than 600 HSBC applications already running on Google Cloud.
