Hudbay Minerals Inc.Hudbay completes acquisition of Arizona Sonoran, creating third largest copper district and scaling production significantly.

Hudbay Minerals has completed its acquisition of Arizona Sonoran Copper Company, creating what it calls the third largest copper district in North America. Under the court-approved plan of arrangement, former Arizona Sonoran shareholders received 0.242 of a Hudbay common share for each Arizona Sonoran share held, and Arizona Sonoran is now a wholly-owned subsidiary. The combined Copper World and Cactus projects are expected to scale Hudbay's annual copper production from approximately 125,000 tonnes today to more than 250,000 tonnes by 2030 and subsequently to more than 350,000 tonnes with the staged development of Cactus. Hudbay also anticipates operational synergies including redeploying engineering teams and using sulphuric acid from Copper World at Cactus, along with estimated annual corporate synergies of $5 to $10 million. The Arizona Sonoran shares will be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange.
