Infineon Technologies AGOpens world's largest power semiconductor fab, doubling capacity and enabling chips for AI data centers, renewables, and EVs.

Infineon Technologies has opened the Smart Power Fab in Dresden, the world's largest factory for intelligent power semiconductors and analog/mixed-signal technologies, several months ahead of schedule. The new plant represents an investment of five billion euros, the largest single investment in Infineon's history, and creates 1,000 direct jobs. The fab doubles Infineon's manufacturing capacities at the Dresden site and will produce chips for energy-efficient solutions in AI data centers, renewable energy, power grids, and software-defined vehicles. Capacity ramp-up can be accelerated to twice the normal speed through rigorous digitalization and AI-supported processes, allowing Infineon to flexibly leverage market opportunities. The facility also sets new standards in sustainable manufacturing, operating without natural gas and recycling approximately 90 percent of its water.
