Insurers Rise After Insurify Blocks Meta's Muse From Its Marketplace

Summary · why it matters

Insurance stocks that had been hurt by the early popularity of Meta's Muse turned higher after online insurance marketplace Insurify blocked the personal AI agent from accessing its comparison shopping platforms. Allstate was trading 0.53% higher at $230.71 during afternoon trading on Wednesday, while Progressive rose 0.80% to $208.60, Travelers gained 1.37% to $366.97, Hanover Insurance added 1.37% to $221.40, and Chubb was up 0.51% to $337.48. Insurify said it blocked Muse to protect both consumers and its carrier partners, arguing that automated scraping by AI agents risks stripping carrier quotes of critical contextual information such as coverage limits, deductibles, discounts, eligibility conditions, and state-required disclosures, presenting them instead as a bare price list. The marketplace added that bulk quoting by automated agents may raise costs for carriers, since each quote request can trigger paid data checks whether or not a real shopper is behind it. "A quote without its context is not a fair comparison. It is a number," said Insurify Co-CEO Giorgos Zacharia, adding that the company supports AI agents that improve insurance shopping but that they must preserve the information and consumer control needed for an informed decision.

Meta's Muse Chatbot Sparks AI Narrative Shift, Fastest App Store Adoption Since ChatGPT

Meta Platforms' Muse chatbot has driven AI stocks higher this week and may have triggered a broader tonal shift in the AI narrative and how consumers use the technology. Futurum CEO Daniel Newman said the new Muse agentic platform is "taking over the internet," with the fastest adoption in the App Store since ChatGPT. Newman noted that Meta's Muse Spark model, the new model released first, tested and benchmarked on pinnacle very close to leading edge models from OpenAI and Anthropic. He said the launch followed a period in which investors questioned Meta's exploding CAPEX and its Reality Labs investments, and after Meta went all in on its super intelligence lab with elite hires costing hundreds of millions and billions on individual talent. Newman added that Muse arrived "out of nowhere" after a week of AI doomerism, and that bringing AI to consumers this way was needed to get the next leg up of optimism on the AI trade.

Meta Shares Rise 1.5% as Muse AI Agent Traction Builds Ahead of Connect

Meta Platforms shares rose 1.5% to $748.11 after early traction for its new Muse artificial intelligence agent continued to drive market optimism ahead of the Meta Connect conference on September 23–24. Wells Fargo analyst Ken Gawrelski kept an Overweight rating and raised his price target to $796 from $640, saying recent model launches and early Muse traction give Meta a story to tell at Connect. Citing SensorTower, the firm said U.S. Muse downloads hit a record 264,000 on September 19 and daily active users reached 448,000 on September 18. Meta launched Muse in the U.S. on September 8 as a personal AI agent that can send email, book travel, fill out forms, and keep working after the app closes, running on the Muse Spark model and available on iOS, Android, muse.ai, and WhatsApp. Barron's reported that OpenAI's GPT-6 Sol and Luna and Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 were relatively low-cost models that were still overshadowed by Muse, and that Anthropic is unlikely to launch a Muse competitor because it sells mainly to businesses. Meta is up 15% since the beginning of the year and is trading close to its 52-week high of $760.66 from September 2025.

Synopsys and TSMC Expand AI Chip Design Partnership Across A14, Agentic AI and Advanced Packaging

Synopsys announced new collaborations with TSMC spanning A14 design enablement, AI-assisted engineering workflows, CoWoS support for multi-die designs, and unified multiphysics signoff. The companies said Synopsys has achieved A14 certification across digital and analog flows and enabled agentic AI capabilities, giving customers a methodology spanning implementation through signoff to accelerate design convergence on TSMC A14 technology. In analog design, Synopsys is collaborating with TSMC on device routing enablement on A14, a key milestone for advanced analog place-and-route automation. Synopsys said its 3DIC Compiler platform now enables designers to co-design and simulate integrated voltage regulators on TSMC CoWoS technology in a unified environment, and that it continues to work with TSMC on co-packaged optics design on TSMC COUPE technology. On TSMC's N2P process, Synopsys achieved key IP enablement and tape-out milestones for AI and HPC designs including PCIe 7.0, HBM4, LPDDR6/5X/5, 224G Ethernet PHY, UCIe, OTP, and advanced SLM process, voltage, and temperature monitoring IP, and recently completed 64G UCIe IP tape-outs on both 2nm and 3nm process nodes.
