Novo Nordisk A/SWegovy pill prescriptions surpass 5 million, driving adoption and beat-and-raise results.

Jim Cramer has reversed his cautious stance on Novo Nordisk after the company's second-quarter beat-and-raise and rapid adoption of its oral Wegovy pill, which has surpassed 5 million prescriptions since its early-2026 launch. On the August 12 episode of Mad Money, Cramer highlighted the disconnect between the Danish drugmaker's strong results and the stock's initial 6% drop, noting the pill is mostly reaching patients who never tried the injections. Novo Nordisk reported second-quarter net sales of DKK 78.49 billion, up 7% at constant exchange rates, with adjusted operating profit up 11% to DKK 33.39 billion. Despite the raised guidance, BMO Capital reiterated a Market Perform rating with a $47 price target, and Berenberg downgraded the stock to Hold, citing valuation and strategy uncertainty. Hedge fund ownership held steady at 55 funds, while short interest remains low at 0.93% of float.
