Moderna IncCramer turns bullish citing pipeline overhaul into cancer, rare diseases, and new flu shot; FDA advisory vote backs Moderna's mRNA flu vaccine.
Jim Cramer declared Moderna investable again on his Mad Money show, citing a pipeline overhaul into cancer treatment, rare diseases, and a new flu shot. Moderna shares have surged roughly 150% in 2026, making it one of the best-performing names in the S&P 500. Cramer's reversal follows the company's June 25 Science Day, where it outlined a decade-long roadmap across vaccines, oncology, and rare diseases, and highlighted nine Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials for its personalized cancer vaccine intismeran autogene developed with Merck. A unanimous FDA advisory committee vote backing Moderna's mRNA-based seasonal flu vaccine mFLUSIVA for adults 50 and older further strengthened the bull case, with an FDA decision expected by August 5, 2026. Despite the optimism, Moderna posted a first-quarter 2026 net loss of $1.3 billion on revenue of $389 million, and Cramer urged viewers to wait for a pullback before buying, as much of the near-term good news may already be priced in.
