JPMorgan Chase & CoCEO's AI spending forecast is a forward-looking statement on industry capex, not directly affecting JPMorgan's own business; earnings beat is separate.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said he expects artificial intelligence spending to reach $1 trillion next year. Speaking on the bank's second-quarter earnings call, Dimon noted that AI spending has already grown from $400 billion last year to $700 billion this year, and internal projections point to a little over $1 trillion in 2027. He added that total capital expenditure is about $4 trillion, meaning AI would account for more than a quarter of all company spend next year. The comments came as JPMorgan Chase reported a 45% year-over-year jump in investment banking revenue, part of a broader surge across large U.S. banks driven by market-related activity.
