Jyong Biotech Ltd. Ordinary SharesReaffirmed licensing focus for BPH drug Botreso® in a growing market with high unmet need, with Phase III trials completed and first licensing deal done.

Jyong Biotech Ltd. reaffirmed its strategic focus on pursuing global licensing partnerships for its investigational BPH drug candidate Botreso®. The company highlighted that the global benign prostatic hyperplasia treatment market is estimated at approximately $13 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow to $22 billion to $22.6 billion by 2035, driven by an aging population and a patient population projected to reach 150 million to 156 million by 2035. Current treatments such as alpha-blockers and 5-alpha reductase inhibitors have a five-year discontinuation rate of 60% to 90% due to side effects like dizziness and sexual dysfunction, creating a significant unmet medical need. Jyong Biotech has completed four Phase III clinical trials for Botreso® in Taiwan and the US and continues to engage in discussions with international pharmaceutical companies. The company noted it has already established collaborative relationships and completed its first licensing cooperation agreement.
