Interim results show 184.3 billion yen Bitcoin valuation loss, leading to net loss
Metaplanet announced its interim results for the fiscal year ending December 2026 on August 13, booking a Bitcoin valuation loss of 184.297 billion yen in non-operating income and expenses. As a result, ordinary loss came to 182.874 billion yen, and net loss attributable to owners of the parent was 182.774 billion yen. Revenue for the period was 4.944 billion yen, up 133.7% year on year, while operating profit was 3.331 billion yen. In the first quarter, the company had also booked a valuation loss of 114.4 billion yen due to Bitcoin price fluctuations, resulting in a net loss. As of the end of June 2026, Metaplanet held 43,000 Bitcoin.
