Microchip Technology expects its total data center portfolio to generate about $1 billion in calendar 2026, up 69.3% from last year, after data center revenue surged 97.8% year over year in the fiscal first quarter. The company reported fiscal first-quarter net sales of $1.485 billion, up 38% year over year and above the high end of guidance, with adjusted earnings per share of $0.76. CEO Steve Sanghi guided for September-quarter sales to rise 7% to 9% sequentially, representing about 40.6% year-over-year growth at the midpoint. The $1 billion forecast is split roughly evenly between the dedicated Data Center Solutions unit, which is expected to grow about 65% from $302.7 million in calendar 2025, and catalog products sold into data centers. Microchip also highlighted that its PCIe Gen 6 connectivity design wins doubled sequentially to 12 programs, signaling future growth.
