Microchip Technology has released Revision 2.0 of its PolarFire FPGA Ethernet Sensor Bridge, a production-ready board that leverages NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge technology to standardize sensor integration for edge AI systems. The new board is 60 percent smaller than the first generation, supports up to four cameras—double the previous capacity—and is USB-C powered for streamlined rack deployment, all at a lower price point. Built on PolarFire FPGA technology, it includes an FPGA Mezzanine Card expansion connector, on-board optical latency measurement circuitry, and interfaces such as MIPI CSI-2, I²C, UART, and GPIO, with support for SLVS-EC 2.0, 12G-SDI, HDMI, and DisplayPort. The board integrates with the NVIDIA Holoscan SDK and is designed for AI-driven medical, industrial, and humanoid robotics applications using NVIDIA Jetson and IGX platforms. It is available for purchase directly from Microchip or through authorized distributors.
