Microsoft beat Wall Street's revenue expectations in the second quarter of calendar year 2026, reporting sales of $90.01 billion, a 17.7% year-on-year increase. Non-GAAP earnings per share came in at $4.81, surpassing analyst consensus estimates by 14.1%. The company's Intelligent Cloud segment, which accounts for 41.5% of total sales, grew 31.6% year-on-year, driven by Azure's performance. Gross margin declined to 67.2% from 68.6% a year earlier, while free cash flow margin fell to 21.8% from 33.4%. Shares rose 2.7% to $400.99 in immediate after-hours trading.
