Northrop Grumman CorporationExecution challenges and program charges overshadowed raised forecasts, leading to a share price decline.

Northrop Grumman shares fell 2.23% to $512.29 after the company raised its 2026 sales and MTM-adjusted earnings forecasts, as investors focused on execution challenges rather than record demand. The company reported $20 billion in net awards and a record backlog of $104.7 billion, but a lower tax rate of 6.3% drove much of the earnings beat, while segment operating income declined 5% and margins fell to 10.6% from 11.8%. Program charges included a $68 million adjustment on the Stand-in Attack Weapon and a $91 million charge on the GEM 63XL rocket motor, and Northrop left its full-year segment operating-income and adjusted free-cash-flow forecasts unchanged. Analysts at JPMorgan and TD Cowen noted the tax-driven beat, and JPMorgan's Seth Seifman pointed to the market's tendency to punish execution challenges.
