Novo Nordisk A/SFoundation launches EUR 60 million incubator, supporting Novo Nordisk's R&D pipeline in obesity and diabetes.

Novo Nordisk shares rose 4.61% intraday on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange after the Novo Nordisk Foundation announced the launch of CardioMetabolic Bridge, a pan-European incubator network backed by up to DKK 450 million, equivalent to EUR 60.2 million, over six years. The program will open its first location in London this month, followed by sites in Italy and Germany later in 2026. CardioMetabolic Bridge will be driven by the BioInnovation Institute, a Copenhagen-based life science innovation institute, and is designed to turn academic research in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease into commercial drug discovery projects. The Foundation cited Europe's strong CMD research base but noted that many promising academic discoveries fail to progress beyond the laboratory. Selected projects will receive funding, scientific and commercial mentoring from entrepreneurs and industry experts.
