Onsemi expects its AI data center revenue to more than double in 2026, as the company guided third-quarter earnings per share to a range of $0.81 to $0.93. The chipmaker reported second-quarter revenue of $1.6 billion, with non-GAAP gross margin of 39.3% and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share of $0.74, all above the midpoint of its guidance. Management noted that supply is tightening in several growth areas, lead times are extending, and the company prioritized AI data center shipments over automotive and industrial segments in the quarter. Onsemi also announced an agreement to acquire Synaptics, with the transaction expected to close in mid-2027, and is implementing a second round of price increases to offset rising input costs. Free cash flow nearly quadrupled in the quarter, reaching $425 million, and the company returned $332 million to shareholders through share repurchases.
