Safran SAR88 helicopter powered by Safran Arriel 2W engine, showcasing in Brazil may boost engine demand.

Robinson Helicopter Company will showcase its largest-ever aircraft, the R88, for the first time in South America at LABACE 2026 in São Paulo from August 4 to 6. The ten-seat utility helicopter, powered by a Safran Arriel 2W turboshaft engine, offers over 2,800 pounds of internal payload, more than 350 nautical miles of range, and a flat-floor cabin with a truck-bed-style rear door for easy loading. President and CEO David Smith called the Brazilian market one of the company's most important globally, highlighting the R88's combination of high capacity, multimission flexibility, and low operating costs. The aircraft is designed to bridge the gap between light single-engine helicopters and more expensive twin-engine models for missions including executive transport, agribusiness, and parapublic services.
