MFC Asset Management Public Company LimitedMFC Asset Management, as trustee, faces potential legal action and auction if ROH exercises buyback right, conflicting with its demand for asset return.

Royal Orchid Hotel Thailand, or ROH, has reported progress on buying back the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Bangkok from the GROREIT trust for 4.873 billion baht. On 14 August 2026, the company sent letters to MFC Asset Management as trustee and One Asset Management as REIT manager to confirm its ability to exercise the asset buyback right, after receiving financial support from a partner. However, that support remains subject to due diligence, relevant approvals, and the signing of further agreements. The company confirmed the hotel is still operating normally, the buyback negotiations do not affect the business, and it has sufficient liquidity for operations. It is also in the process of fixing its free-float distribution to meet Stock Exchange of Thailand requirements. Previously, One Asset Management said ROH's buyback right expired under the contract on 14 July 2026, and MFC Asset Management demanded the asset be returned within 30 days, otherwise it would proceed with legal action and an auction of the property.
