Tesla IncRecord deliveries, largest order backlog since 2023, and FSD driving customer demand.

Rowan Street Capital highlighted Tesla’s advancements in artificial intelligence and autonomous driving in its Q2 2026 investor letter. The fund noted that Tesla achieved record second-quarter deliveries and exited the quarter with its largest order backlog since 2023, with production constrained by supply rather than demand. Full Self-Driving has become a primary driver of customer demand, and robotaxi operations expanded to seven U.S. markets, including Texas, Florida, and the San Francisco Bay Area, with autonomous miles driven increasing by more than 10% each week. The firm also mentioned that the Optimus humanoid robot remains on track to begin production, though manufacturing will likely scale gradually. Rowan Street Capital’s portfolio declined about 1% from the first quarter, resulting in a net return of negative 21% for the second half of 2026, but the fund emphasized that underlying business performance remains strong despite stock price pressure.
