Sigma Lithium Resources CorpCompany generating enough cash to repay $100M debt, improving financial health.

Sigma Lithium is generating enough cash to fully repay a $100 million debt facility by year-end, Co-Chair Marcelo Paiva said Friday in a Bloomberg interview. The loan, which accounts for the bulk of Sigma's $134 million in debt as of March 31, matures around December, four years after it was signed with the Brazilian miner's United Arab Emirates-based shareholder Synergy Capital. Paiva told Bloomberg that the company is producing and generating cash, and that the loan carries a high borrowing cost so there is no interest in renewing. Sigma's Grota do Cirilo complex is one of the world's largest hard-rock lithium deposits, and second-quarter production exceeded guidance by 6 percent despite an equipment upgrade. The company reported negative free cash flow in the first quarter but has since benefited from advance payments under lithium concentrate sales agreements, with cash reaching $28 million as of May 15, its highest level since the end of 2024.
