T-Mobile US IncT-Mobile is mentioned as a potential acquisition target by SpaceX, but the outcome is uncertain and depends on regulatory and strategic factors.
TD Cowen analyst Gregory Williams says SpaceX could buy T-Mobile outright if rival carriers keep blocking its path into wireless. The note argues T-Mobile is the clear choice for a SpaceX wireless push, as the company wants to grow Starlink into a full connectivity platform blending space-based and ground-based coverage. The three big carriers have refused to lease network capacity to SpaceX through MVNO agreements, and T-Mobile carries a market value near $250 billion. SpaceX has already acquired wireless spectrum from EchoStar for about $17 billion in September and roughly $2.6 billion more in November, and its Starlink service counted more than 10 million subscribers. The company has told investors it plans to sell Starlink mobile service directly to US consumers, a move that would pit it head to head against all three carriers.
